Advent @ St. Mark's

Advent is actually a time of preparation and waiting for Christ's coming.  Scripture, our worship, and prayers not only prepare us spiritually for Christ's coming, but also for his eventual second coming.  The theme of advent is often penitential or solemn, but at the same time has focus on hope, peace, joy, and love.

There are many Advent opportunities at St. Mark's:

  • The message theme is "When Hope Came Down" which starts Sunday, December 3.  Click here to listen to the message.

  • The "Our Daily Bread" devotionals are available in the kiosk in the back of the Sanctuary if you wish to spend time in reflection and prayer this Advent season.

  • Children's Ministry invites you to an Advent Family Celebration on Friday, December 1 at 6 pm in Fellowship Hall. Crafts, snacks, fellowship and more will help the littles ones learn about Advent. Families will be provided with Advent Devotionals to use each week as they prepare for Christmas. Click here to RSVP.
  • "When Hope Came Down" Kid's Worship Sunday will be held on Sunday, December 10 @ 9 am.

  • St. Mark's Adult Chancel Choir will present "Little Lion, Little Lamb" Christmas Cantata at 9 am on Sunday, December 17.

  • Christmas Eve worship services  will be held at 9:30 am, 1 pm, 7 pm, or 10 pm.  All three evening services will include the songs and sounds of Christmas with candle lighting.  Child care is available at the 7 pm service.
